It&rsquo;s hard to believe it&rsquo;s already been two years since Mazda unveiled the Iconic SP. Given the company&rsquo;s history of promising concept cars that never reach production, excitement has been cautious. The 2015 RX-Vision, for example, never made it to the road, and there are concerns the Iconic SP could face a similar fate.
Although Mazda has signaled interest in a new rotary sports car, the RX revival is not guaranteed. Chief Technology Officer Ryuichi Umeshita confirmed that financial hurdles remain, noting that the &ldquo;only outstanding issue is financial.&rdquo;
Despite this, hope remains. Since the concept&rsquo;s debut at the Japan Mobility Show in October 2023, Mazda has reinstated its dedicated rotary engine engineering team. Their work can be seen in the Vision X-Coupe, featuring a two-rotor rotary engine integrated into a plug-in hybrid system producing over 500 horsepower.

Umeshita describes the Iconic SP as his &ldquo;dream car&rdquo; and hopes to make it a reality one day. The project is not canceled, but financial constraints suggest a production version is still far off. Any RX revival would be a completely new model on a bespoke platform, likely independent of the MX-5. Mazda has said the RX would be sold alongside the MX-5 and serve as &ldquo;a good successor to the RX-7.&rdquo; While the concept&rsquo;s rotary engine functioned solely as a generator, Umeshita hasn&rsquo;t ruled out the possibility of a combustion engine driving the wheels directly.
Mazda remains a relatively small company, which limits its ability to balance niche sports cars with more volume-focused models. Current priorities include the development of a dedicated EV platform set to launch in 2027, a proprietary hybrid system for the next-generation CX-5, and a new Skyactiv-Z combustion engine.
While the Iconic SP may not arrive soon, Umeshita remains optimistic: &ldquo;I would never say we gave it up.&rdquo; Meanwhile, Mazda continues to expand its sports car lineup, with a new Miata planned featuring a larger engine, manual gearbox, and possibly reduced weight.

The Lexus Coupe Concept Boasts a Stunning Interior

Porsche is recalibrating its electric vehicle plans, but that doesn&rsquo;t mean the company is slowing down. The upcoming Cayenne Turbo Electric is set to deliver over 1,000 horsepower, marking a major step beyond Porsche&rsquo;s previous EVs.

This is the fourth-generation Cayenne, known as the E4, which will coexist with the gas-powered third generation. It&rsquo;s the second Porsche built on the VW Group&rsquo;s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), following the Macan, but it&rsquo;s far from just a larger Macan.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric features a new battery design, an oil-cooled rear motor, updated infotainment, and optional Porsche Active Ride adaptive suspension. Its 0&ndash;100 km/h acceleration takes under 3 seconds, while 0&ndash;200 km/h takes less than 8 seconds, with total torque reaching 1,106 lb-ft.
The EV supports up to 600 kW of regenerative braking, recharges at 400 kW (10&ndash;80% in around 16 minutes), and has a 113 kWh battery more energy-dense than the Taycan&rsquo;s, promising 373 miles on the European test cycle. Efficiency-focused design includes mounting battery modules directly to the frame and relocating cooling fans for optimal airflow.
The Turbo&rsquo;s rear motor, designed in-house, uses direct oil cooling for sustained high performance and greater regenerative capability. The Cayenne Electric will also offer optional wireless charging.

The chassis is similar to the Macan, with a four-link front suspension and multi-link rear axle, and a rear-biased 52% weight distribution. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric Is Set to Deliver Over 1,000 Horsepower

For the 2026 Super GT season, Honda has revealed the Prelude-GT. While it resembles a Prelude, this car is a completely different beast.

The newly revived Honda Prelude has been on the roads for just a month, yet Honda has already unveiled its racing version. The Prelude-GT is set to compete next year in Japan&rsquo;s Super GT series, taking on the top-level GT500 class. While it may look like the road-going Prelude, underneath it&rsquo;s an entirely different machine.
Built like all current GT500 cars, the Prelude-GT features a carbon-fiber monocoque and sporty carbon bodywork reminiscent of the road model. Following GT500 regulations, it uses a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing around 650 horsepower, delivered to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox&mdash;far beyond the 200-horsepower production version.
The Prelude-GT will compete against the Toyota GR Supra GT500 and the Nissan Z Nismo GT500. It replaces Honda&rsquo;s previous Super GT contender, the Civic Type R-GT, which struggled to be competitive with its four-door bodywork.

The Civic Type R-GT achieved only one win in its two-year stint and has yet to surpass second place this year, with Toyota dominating the field. &ldquo;We see the potential to surpass the Civic Type R-GT by applying the knowledge gained over the past two years to develop a Prelude-based Super GT car,&rdquo; said Masahiro Saeki of Honda Racing. Next year, lifted aerodynamic restrictions should make the competition even more intense.
As Motorsport.com notes, it&rsquo;s rare for a constructor to replace a Super GT car so quickly&mdash;the old NSX-GT ran from 2017 to 2023&mdash;but in such a fiercely competitive series, Honda must act to keep pace with its rivals. Among the newest additions, the 2002 Renault Avantime makes its GT7 debut. Its quirky design makes it a unique presence alongside the usual lineup of high-powered race cars, including two 2,000-horsepower Chevrolet Corvette concepts and a lesser-known electric vehicle.

In the game, the Avantime is equipped with a single 3.0-liter V6 engine with four valves per cylinder, producing 207 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque, sent to the front wheels via a five-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Its 0&ndash;60 mph time is around eight seconds, making it a moderately quick vehicle, but its appeal lies in its status as an eccentric collectible rather than outright performance.
In addition to the Avantime, the update includes two futuristic Corvette concepts&mdash;the CX Concept and CX.R Vision Gran Turismo Concept&mdash;introduced at The Quail in Monterey, as well as the 2026 Afeela 1, an electric vehicle from the Sony Honda Mobility partnership, adding variety to the GT7 roster.
Despite its unconventional looks, the Renault Avantime remains a cult classic, with production limited to roughly 8,500 units between 2001 and 2003. Its inclusion in GT7 gives fans a chance to experience one of the most distinctive and unusual vehicles in automotive history.

The Renault Avantime Is Finally Available to Drive in Gran Turismo 7

The BMW M3 CS Touring has claimed the fastest N&uuml;rburgring lap for wagons, outperforming its milder sibling.

BMW announced that it claimed a notable N&uuml;rburgring record back in April. The M3 CS Touring, the brand&rsquo;s most extreme station wagon, now holds the title for the fastest wagon lap on the Nordschleife, clocking in at 7 minutes, 29.49 seconds.
Interestingly, the record lap was set not by a professional racing driver but by BMW development engineer J&ouml;rg Weidinger. The CS Touring shaved over five seconds off the previous record, which was held by the standard M3 Touring.
While a lap time in the mid-seven-minute range might seem modest compared to supercars that can dip below seven minutes, it&rsquo;s impressive for a five-seat wagon with a large cargo area. For comparison, the CS Touring is faster than the Camaro ZL1, the C8 Corvette, and the previous-generation BMW M5, coming less than a second shy of the Nissan GT-R.
The M3 CS Touring represents the pinnacle of performance for wagons. It packs a turbocharged inline-six producing 543 horsepower, driving all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. The car also uses extensive carbon fiber, including standard carbon bucket seats, to reduce weight.

Honda is heading to next month&rsquo;s Goodwood Festival of Speed with an impressive lineup, bidding farewell to its iconic hot hatch with the Civic Type R Ultimate Edition. Alongside it, the brand will showcase the new hybrid Prelude and the quirky 0 Series SUV &mdash; a model that breaks away from Honda&rsquo;s usual design language. But perhaps the most intriguing debut will be a fresh concept vehicle with a bold name: the Super EV.
While Honda remains tight-lipped about the compact hatch, it&rsquo;s hard not to see it as a potential spiritual successor to the beloved Honda e, whose production ended in January 2024. With its boxy design and tall roofline, the Super EV brings to mind Japan&rsquo;s kei cars &mdash; especially the N-One.

That said, a direct connection seems unlikely, as the N-One uses a small 658-cc three-cylinder gasoline engine, whereas the Super EV is all-electric. The newcomer&rsquo;s flared wheel arches suggest something more substantial, and it appears to be at least as large as the Honda e &mdash; a car half a meter longer than the N-One and free from the constraints of kei car dimensions (limited to 3.4 meters in Japan).
Positioned as an A-segment vehicle, the Super EV will likely compete with compact city cars like the Hyundai i10, Kia Picanto, and the discontinued Volkswagen up! However, as an electric model, it might be better compared to the funky Hyundai Inster.
Despite being labeled a concept, the Super EV looks nearly production-ready. It features full-size mirrors, standard-looking wheels, and a functional lower grille &mdash; all signs that Honda may be preparing it for market. A charging port is visible near a covered badge, and sensors near the top of the windshield suggest thoughtful design integration.
Unlike many concepts that use oversized wheels and minimal features for style over substance, the Super EV opts for conventional large door handles and practical design elements. A slim grille opening may serve a cooling purpose, and a subtle roof spoiler can be seen in the lone released image.

The Honda e was admired for its charm but criticized for its high price and limited range. With this new small hatchback, there&rsquo;s hope Honda has addressed those flaws. If it hits the right price point and offers better range, the Super EV could become a real contender in the urban EV space.

Thankfully, the heart of the car remains the same: the Murano-derived 3.5-liter V-6, still delivering an estimated 300 hp. Given the car&rsquo;s low 2,646-pound weight, that&rsquo;s more than enough to keep things thrilling.
The reborn Micra 350SR makes its public debut today at the 2025 SMMT Test Day, held at the UK&rsquo;s Millbrook Proving Ground&mdash;the very track where the original was tested over 20 years ago.

They say only two things in life are certain: death and taxes. But maybe it&rsquo;s time to add the Pagani Zonda to that list. Despite officially debuting back in 1999, this seemingly immortal supercar keeps finding ways to return&mdash;most recently with a brand-new iteration in 2025 that once again breathes new life into its naturally aspirated V-12 formula. Even the Huayra, its 2011 successor, has already been succeeded by the Utopia three years ago&mdash;yet the Zonda keeps stealing the spotlight.
The latest creation, dubbed the Zonda Unico, lives up to its name: only one exists. Commissioned by a client who drew inspiration from the majestic Kunlun Mountains in Asia, the Unico isn&rsquo;t built from scratch but is a heavily modified version of an existing chassis&mdash;typical of many special-edition Zondas. And yes, it&rsquo;s every bit as dramatic as you&rsquo;d expect. The rear wing even has a secondary wing of its own, complemented by an aggressive aero setup that includes a towering center fin and a bold roof scoop.

Technical specs remain under wraps, but from what we can see, the Unico features a shimmering blue carbon fiber body, with plenty of exposed carbon touches on elements like the windshield frame, side mirrors, headlight housings, and various vents. Blue accents also highlight the wheels, brake calipers, quad exhaust pipes, and taillight surrounds, creating a visually stunning package.
Somehow, the Zonda continues to evolve while staying true to its roots. Even after 26 years, it looks just as jaw-dropping today as it did at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show. Power still comes from an AMG-sourced V-12&mdash;likely the 7.3-liter engine pushing around 760 horsepower, since the Unico appears to be based on the Zonda 760 Roadster. We&rsquo;re hoping it also features a gated manual shifter, though interior photos haven&rsquo;t surfaced yet.
What&rsquo;s truly fascinating is how the Zonda keeps enjoying rebirths, while the Huayra&mdash;technically a newer and more advanced car&mdash;hasn&rsquo;t seen nearly the same level of reverence or reinvention. Last year, Kia surprised many by confirming the arrival of the new K4 Hatchback. Now, the production version of the 2026 K4 Hatchback has been officially unveiled.
This model is Kia&rsquo;s response to hatchback versions of popular compact cars like the Honda Civic, Mazda3, and Toyota Corolla. While the market is increasingly leaning toward crossovers, Kia still sees strong potential for a sleek and versatile hatchback.
The K4 Hatchback stands out with its distinctive floating-roof design and hidden rear door handles integrated into the C-pillar. The gently sloping roofline allows for what Kia claims is class-leading rear headroom, and the model also boasts more rear legroom than any of its competitors. Its 22.2 cubic feet (629 liters) of cargo space is generous, although slightly less than the Honda Civic Hatchback&rsquo;s. Interestingly, the K4 Hatchback is 11 inches (about 28 cm) shorter than its sedan counterpart.

Under the hood, it will be offered with two engine options: a 147-hp 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder paired with a CVT, and a 190-hp 1.6-liter turbocharged engine paired with an eight-speed automatic in the GT-Line Turbo. Both GT-Line trims come with a sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch wheels, and more aggressive styling cues.
Inside, the hatchback shares its cabin layout with the sedan, featuring dual 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. A wide range of driver-assistance features comes standard, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, while the GT-Line Turbo also offers Kia&rsquo;s advanced Highway Driving Assist.
Trim levels and pricing details have yet to be announced, but it&rsquo;s expected that the hatchback will be priced slightly higher than the sedan, which currently starts at just over &euro;23,000 in some markets, depending on configuration and options.

Audi's New A6 Sedan Sticks with Tradition&mdash;And Style
It might feel like every new launch is a crossover, but the traditional sedan isn&rsquo;t backing down just yet. Sedans were once the backbone of Western luxury brands, funding the SUV boom for Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. And while sedan sales have dipped, there's still enough demand to justify fresh investments. Enter the next-generation Audi A6.
We got our first glimpse of the new A6 earlier this month&mdash;though it was the Avant wagon version. Now, Audi has unveiled the sedan, which looks nearly identical to the Avant from the front, with the main differences showing in the rear. Interestingly, Audi skipped the flashy S Line trim for this reveal, instead showing a well-equipped, yet not top-tier, version.

Unlike the all-electric A6 E-Tron, the combustion-powered A6 features traditional headlights and runs on a completely different platform&mdash;Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), shared with the new A5. Meanwhile, the E-Tron sits on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE), developed with Porsche. With no gas-powered A7 Sportback on the horizon, the Avant remains the only A6 with a hatchback design.
The sedan carries over the wagon&rsquo;s full-width rear light bar and black winglets, though the dual exhausts are now fully functional&mdash;no more fake tips. And while Audi confusingly renamed the liftback A5 Sedan, the A6 remains a true trunked sedan.
This is Audi&rsquo;s most aerodynamically efficient gas-powered car ever, with a drag coefficient of just 0.23. (The A6 E-Tron beats that with a 0.21 Cd if equipped with digital mirror cameras.) Measuring 196.5 inches (4.99 m), the new A6 is 2.36 inches (60 mm) longer than before. The wheelbase remains at 115.1 inches (2,927 mm), and wheel sizes range from 21 to 23 inches, including a striking forged tri-color set.

Inside, it mirrors the Avant&rsquo;s cabin, complete with three screens: a 11.9-inch digital cluster, 14.5-inch central display, and an optional 10.9-inch passenger screen. Without the third display, the dashboard feels a bit incomplete.
Until the S6 arrives, the top performer is the six-cylinder version, sprinting from 0 to 62 mph in 4.7 seconds and hitting 155 mph (250 km/h). It also offers an optional rear differential for torque vectoring. A new RS6 is also expected, but likely as an Avant only. With the RS7 Sportback discontinued, fans are hoping for an RS6 Sedan comeback.
The A6 brings plenty of premium features: up to 20 speakers, four-zone climate control, soft-close doors, rear-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, and a panoramic sunroof that transitions from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button.
Pricing in Germany starts at &euro;55,500 ($63,000), with deliveries beginning this summer. U.S. availability is expected later, likely for the 2026 model year.

Audi has acknowledged recent criticisms about interior quality and promises improvements. The new A6 includes 30% better sound insulation, acoustic glass for rear windows, revised engine/transmission mounts, and redesigned dual-clutch gear teeth to reduce noise. Even the door and window seals are tighter now.
In terms of practicality, the sedan offers 17.37 cu ft (492 liters) of trunk space, while the Avant handles 17.76 cu ft (503 liters) or up to 54.17 cu ft (1,534 liters) with seats folded. Plug-in hybrids will likely reduce cargo capacity due to battery placement, though only ICE variants are confirmed for now.
The entry-level model features a 2.0-liter turbocharged gas engine making 201 hp and 250 lb-ft (340 Nm), powering the front wheels. A 3.0-liter V6 mild-hybrid with Quattro makes 362 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm). On the diesel side, a 2.0 TDI with 48V tech delivers 201 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm), with FWD or AWD available. Quattro models can push up to 70% of power to the rear axle.

2026 Audi A6 Sedan

Even though the Ioniq 6 has been on the market for three years, it still looks like something out of a time machine. Its futuristic design remains striking, but Hyundai has already decided it&rsquo;s time for a mid-cycle refresh. The electric sedan is as divisive as ever&mdash;maybe even more so&mdash;thanks to its new split headlight setup. The updated front end features a distinct upper strip of daytime running lights, while the main headlights are now subtly integrated into the bumper's blacked-out section.
This facelifted version introduces a new N Line trim with sportier bumpers and a contrasting two-tone look&mdash;we&rsquo;re still undecided on whether it works. At the back, the redesign swaps the old dual-spoiler arrangement for a cleaner, single ducktail-style spoiler. The dark trim pieces and muscular bumpers echo the styling of its crossover sibling, the Ioniq 5 N Line. Some official images also offer a sneak peek at the high-performance Ioniq 6 N, set to debut in July. We can already spot its prominent rear wing.

Although the full dashboard view isn&rsquo;t available yet, it&rsquo;s clear that the physical climate controls have been retained&mdash;and the display for them is now slightly larger. This 2026 model shown is tailored for the Korean market, where camera-based mirror systems are allowed, explaining the additional screens at the dashboard&rsquo;s edges. A new three-spoke steering wheel makes an appearance, and Hyundai claims the interior materials have been upgraded for a more premium feel.
Responding to customer feedback, Hyundai is sticking with physical buttons instead of relying solely on touchscreen interfaces. As a result, the refreshed Ioniq 6 actually offers more physical controls than its predecessor. The lower center console has been redesigned to include additional traditional buttons, positioned next to the cup holders and wireless charging pad&mdash;similar to the changes introduced in last year&rsquo;s Ioniq 5 facelift.
Both the 2026 Ioniq 6 and the Ioniq 6 N made their debut at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show in Korea, though Hyundai hasn&rsquo;t shared any technical specs yet. It&rsquo;s expected that the updated sedan will benefit from the same enhancements given to the Ioniq 5, including the performance-focused upgrades planned for the full-blown N variant.

Split Headlights Coming to the 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 6

Better late than never&mdash;the Valhalla is finally nearing production. It&rsquo;s hard to believe that six years have passed since Aston Martin first unveiled the AM-RB 003 concept. Before production kicks off in the second quarter of the year, the "baby" Valkyrie is undergoing final validation tests. Aston Martin is addressing any remaining issues by thoroughly evaluating prototypes in Spain and the UK.
A prototype Valhalla was taken to the IDIADA proving ground, situated between Barcelona and Tarragona along the Mediterranean coast. The 1,065-horsepower plug-in hybrid was put through high-speed runs and handling assessments on both dry and wet tracks. These tests allowed Aston Martin to fine-tune the active aerodynamics, steering, and thermal braking system. Meanwhile, another prototype, seen here on UK roads, is being used to finalize damper calibration.

At the core of the Valhalla lies Aston Martin&rsquo;s most powerful V-8 engine to date. Loosely based on the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series powertrain, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo unit with a flat-plane crankshaft produces 817 hp. Power is sent to the wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which integrates an electric motor functioning as both a starter and generator to charge the battery. While the gasoline engine is positioned behind the driver, two front-mounted electric motors deliver a combined 248 hp, granting the Valhalla all-wheel-drive capability.
The original 2019 concept was initially designed with an in-house V-6 engine, but the production model instead features a specially modified V-8 sourced from Affalterbach. Like the Ferrari SF90 Stradale, the Valhalla can operate in front-wheel-drive mode when running purely on electric power. However, its EV range is limited to just 8.6 miles before the combustion engine kicks in. In electric mode, the top speed is capped at 80 mph. Engage the V-8, and the Valhalla can rocket to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds, reaching an electronically limited top speed of 217 mph.
Despite its powerful V-8 and three electric motors, the Valhalla maintains a relatively light dry curb weight of 3,648 pounds. It rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, paired with a pushrod suspension setup, carbon-ceramic brakes, and adaptive Bilstein dampers. While aerodynamics play a key role, the design remains clean and refined rather than overly aggressive.

The Aston Martin Valhalla is Almost Prepared For the Road

After years of financial struggles and a recently failed merger with Honda, it's clear that Nissan is facing serious challenges. However, the company isn't giving up. With Chief Planning Officer Ivan Espinosa set to take over as CEO on April 1 and a fresh wave of new models on the way, the Japanese automaker is optimistic about turning things around. For its key markets, Nissan has lined up a series of upcoming product launches.
As previously confirmed, the third-generation Leaf is transitioning from a hatchback to a crossover&mdash;an unsurprising move. The new model shares the CMF-EV platform with the larger Ariya and becomes Nissan&rsquo;s first electric vehicle to feature a NACS charging port. Set to hit the US market in the third quarter of this year, it will come with 19-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof, with launches in Japan and Europe to follow. More details will be revealed in June, but we already know its body boasts a drag coefficient of 0.26, improving efficiency.

The Leaf is just one of over 10 new models Nissan has planned for the US and Canadian markets. In fiscal year 2025, the current-generation Rogue will become the brand&rsquo;s first plug-in hybrid in North America. Before the year is out, Nissan will also unveil the next-generation Sentra and a refreshed Pathfinder. The all-new Rogue is scheduled for fiscal year 2026, featuring the brand&rsquo;s E-Power technology, where a gasoline engine acts as a generator to charge the battery, which then powers the electric motor. The fourth-gen Rogue will be available as a plug-in hybrid and a traditional gasoline model.
By the end of fiscal year 2027, Nissan aims to introduce a fully electric, &ldquo;adventure-focused&rdquo; SUV, which will be built at its Canton, Mississippi plant. Slightly larger than the Rogue, it will feature a boxy, Xterra-inspired design that Espinosa describes as having "a little bit butch" styling. However, it won&rsquo;t match the Xterra&rsquo;s off-road prowess, as it won&rsquo;t use a body-on-frame platform.
Beyond North America, Nissan is also previewing the new Micra, an electric supermini based on the Renault 5, for the European market. Additionally, the Juke&mdash;drawing design cues from the Hyper Punk concept&mdash;is set to go electric, though neither model will be available in the US. Europe will also see a revised Qashqai with improved E-Power technology for better efficiency.

In Japan, Nissan is preparing to launch the new Leaf, an updated kei car, and several next-generation or refreshed models, all featuring the upgraded E-Power system. This setup is also planned for select Japanese domestic market minivans.
Elsewhere, Nissan plans to release the Z Nismo in the Middle East, while India will receive two locally produced models: a minivan and a compact crossover. Oceania is set to get two EVs, a one-ton pickup truck, the latest Patrol, and the new E-Power system. Meanwhile, Africa will see the small Magnite crossover, the Patrol, and an undisclosed SUV.
Nissan's luxury brand, Infiniti, isn't being left out. An update for the QX60 and a new Sport Package for the QX80 are on the way, followed by the QX65, a crossover-coupe hybrid, and a fully electric model inspired by the 2023 Vision QXe sedan.
As for the E-Power system, Nissan claims the latest version is 15% more efficient at higher speeds. The revised setup will be powered by a newly developed 1.5-liter gasoline engine designed specifically for this application. As before, the internal combustion engine won&rsquo;t be mechanically connected to the wheels. The third-generation E-Power system is also said to reduce noise and vibrations for a more comfortable ride.
Nissan&rsquo;s ambitious product overhaul could help stabilize its finances and pave the way for Espinosa&rsquo;s dream of reviving the Silvia. The new CEO has also assured that the GT-R will make a comeback at some point. Until then, his daily driver remains Nissan&rsquo;s only currently available performance model, the Z.

Built on the Advanced Digitized Platform co-developed with SAIC, it&rsquo;s longer than the A5 Avant but slightly shorter than the A6 Avant, offering more interior space due to its dedicated EV architecture.
Performance-wise, the concept featured a 100-kWh battery, delivering 435 miles (700 km) of range (CLTC) and an 800V architecture for ultra-fast charging. A 10-minute charge adds 230 miles (370 km) of range, while dual motors provide 764 hp and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm), achieving 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds.

AUDI, Not Audi, Is Set to Unveil Its First Production Vehicle

<h2>The electric SUV, styled like a coupe, is not connected to the standard C-HR.</h2>

Toyota may have been late to the Euro EV scene, but it's now working to catch up. Along with the updated bZ4X and the new Urban Cruiser, the automaker is introducing the C-HR+. Despite its name and similar design, Toyota clarifies that this model is not an electric version of the regular C-HR, which is available with hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains in Europe. Instead, the C-HR+ is a distinct product.
Though the name may be puzzling, at least it's not part of the bZ lineup. Toyota has already announced it will move away from the "beyond zero" naming strategy, opting for a system that's easier for customers to understand. On a positive note, we're relieved the brand didn&rsquo;t fall into the trap of reviving a sports car name, as some others have done&mdash;looking at you, 2026 Acura RSX.

At 178 inches (4520 millimeters), the C-HR+ is significantly larger, measuring 6.3 inches (160 millimeters) longer than the regular model. Its wheelbase is also more generous, at 108.2 inches (2750 millimeters), adding an extra 4.3 inches (110 millimeters) between the axles compared to the gasoline-powered versions.
This increased size translates into more legroom and cargo space. The C-HR+ offers 14.69 cubic feet (416 liters) of trunk space, which is one cubic foot (28 liters) more than the C-HR hybrid with the 1.8-liter engine. It provides an additional 1.83 cubic feet (52 liters) over the 2.0-liter hybrid, and an extra 3.74 cubic feet (106 liters) compared to the plug-in hybrid model.
The easiest way to distinguish the C-HR+ is by its "hidden" rear door handles, which are mounted high on the C-pillars. The model also has traditional front door handles, unlike the pop-out style on the hybrid versions. Other distinguishing features include longer rear doors, updated lighting, redesigned bumpers, and a higher beltline. A small quarter glass at the A-pillars is also a noticeable design change.

Inside, the C-HR+ boasts a revised interior with a digital instrument cluster located atop the dashboard. A large 14-inch touchscreen is standard and, unfortunately, integrates the climate control system&mdash;unlike the regular C-HR, which has separate physical buttons for temperature control. However, there are still some hard buttons for quick access to certain functions, along with dual wireless charging pads. Additional features include rear climate controls, a panoramic sunroof, and a more compact gear selector.
The C-HR+ will be available with both front- and all-wheel drive. The single-motor version generates 165 horsepower (123 kilowatts) with the standard 57.7-kWh battery, while upgrading to the larger 77-kWh battery boosts output to 221 hp (165 kW). Toyota estimates a maximum range of 373 miles (600 kilometers) in the WLTP cycle, depending on the version and trim level.

The dual-motor model, equipped with the larger battery, produces a combined output of 338 hp (252 kW). This makes the C-HR+ the most powerful Toyota in Europe, excluding the GR Supra. It&rsquo;s also quite fast, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 5.2 seconds.
While Toyota doesn&rsquo;t specify how long it takes to recharge the battery, it does state that the C-HR+ supports DC charging at a maximum of 150 kW. The automaker also claims the battery will retain at least 70% of its capacity after 10 years of use. Built on the e-TNGA platform, the C-HR+ shares more in common with the bZ4X than the regular C-HR.
The Toyota C-HR+ is expected to debut in select European markets by the end of the year, with full availability across the continent set for later in 2026.

A year has passed since Audi produced the last R8. While Lamborghini has already introduced the Temerario as the successor to the Huracan, its Audi counterpart has yet to be officially confirmed. However, a new report suggests that Audi is looking to bring back a supercar. Unlike the fully electric PB18 E-Tron concept shown below, the next R8 is rumored to retain a combustion engine.
According to a recent report from Autocar, the R8 could return by late 2027. The project has reportedly been approved by Audi&rsquo;s CEO, Gernot D&ouml;llner. When contacted by Motor1, Audi declined to comment, but speculation suggests the next-generation model will be a plug-in hybrid featuring a V8 engine shared with the Temerario. This doesn&rsquo;t come as a surprise.

While previous R8 models were developed alongside the Gallardo and Huracan, this potential new version would arrive several years after the Temerario. The latest Lamborghini was developed in-house, thanks to the brand&rsquo;s growing success, which provided the financial resources to create a new supercar independently. In 2024, for the first time ever, Lamborghini surpassed Bentley in sales, delivering 10,700 vehicles&mdash;100 more than the Crewe-based luxury brand.
Once again, the R8 is expected to be the more practical alternative to its Lamborghini sibling, which will remain the more aggressive variant. However, Audi is reportedly using a yet-to-be-released high-performance version of the Temerario as the foundation for its new supercar, meaning an R8 Performance could be available from the start. With the standard Temerario already producing 907 horsepower from a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 and three electric motors, a four-digit power output for the R8 isn't out of the question.
The design remains an unknown factor, especially since the PB18 E-Tron concept is already five years old. That concept was created under Marc Lichte&rsquo;s direction, but with Massimo Frascella taking over as Audi&rsquo;s Head of Design in early 2024, the final styling could be different. The PB18 E-Tron was envisioned purely as an electric vehicle, whereas a V8 plug-in hybrid with a tri-motor setup would likely influence the car&rsquo;s proportions and structure.
Last August, Audi appeared to reconsider its plan to go fully electric by 2033. CEO Gernot D&ouml;llner emphasized the need for &ldquo;flexibility,&rdquo; acknowledging that EV adoption is progressing slower than expected. More recently, the German business newspaper Handelsblatt reported that Audi and Volkswagen were considering additional investments in combustion engines. A revived R8 could be one of the last new Audi models to feature internal combustion, alongside the long-rumored Q9 three-row SUV.

Bringing back the R8 seems like a logical step&mdash;and not just from an enthusiast&rsquo;s perspective. Lamborghini has already handled much of the development work with the Temerario. With an electrified powertrain, stricter emissions regulations shouldn&rsquo;t pose a major issue. Additionally, the Volkswagen Group would benefit from economies of scale after investing heavily in its new flat-plane crankshaft V8, which revs up to 10,000 rpm.
If Audi does bring back the R8, one question remains: why didn&rsquo;t they do this from the beginning? Perhaps the company had other priorities. The R8 was never a high-volume seller, with just 44,418 units produced between 2007 and 2024, but its role was never about numbers&mdash;it was a flagship model designed to draw customers into showrooms, where they might end up buying an A4 instead.
Audi is now positioning itself further upmarket, focusing on higher-end models with premium interiors while accepting the trade-off of selling fewer cars. Reviving the R8 would fit perfectly into this new strategy.

The Audi R8 Might Make a Comeback

The Compass is a critical vehicle for Jeep. The company sold 111,697 units last year, joining the&nbsp;Wrangler&nbsp;and&nbsp;Grand Cherokee&nbsp;as the only Jeeps to crack the six-figure sales barrier. With the possibility of significantly higher vehicle pricing due to tariffs, the entry-level Compass could be even more important than ever. That's why Jeep's latest teaser for the next-generation Compass has our interest.
Compared to the softer lines and rounded corners of the current Compass, the next-gen model will follow the trend of sharper edges and bulky bodies. This is easily seen in a profile sketch, showing the Compass ditching its rounded hood and kinked C-pillar glass for a squared face and a beltline running largely straight, front-to-back.

We're also treated to an up-close look at the Compass's new face. We're struggling to see a single curve in there&mdash;the iconic seven-bar Jeep grille has rectangular slots with long, hexagonal LED lights spanning its entire width. The grille looks vertical, flanked by sharply rectangular headlights.
Another teaser photo gets very close to the taillights, showing more rectangles and pointed shapes. The words&nbsp;Performance LED&nbsp;are visible near the lights, suggesting&nbsp;Jeep&nbsp;will be emphasizing the&nbsp;Compass lighting setup to some degree.
Amid the photos, we also learn that the next-generation Compass will debut this spring. That's just around the corner&mdash;considerably sooner than what we saw last June&nbsp;in the automaker's future product roadmap. A new Compass was set to debut in 2027, but there have been some&nbsp;changes at Jeep and Stellantis since then. Many vehicles for North America have been shuffled and fast-tracked since the&nbsp;departure of former CEO Carlo Tavares. Considering the need for more affordable vehicles in the US market, pushing the Compass forward makes all kinds of sense.
Still, the version we see in the spring may not reach North America right away. Jeep is keen to mention&nbsp;European&nbsp;production will begin this year, and the Compass will be made in Italy. With all the&nbsp;controversy surrounding tariffs&nbsp;at the moment, we wouldn't be surprised if Jeep takes a wait-and-see approach before committing to any specific North American timeframe. Right now, only Canada, Mexico, and China are subjected to the&nbsp;25-percent tariffs mandated by the Trump administration. But at this point, nobody knows if that will go away or be expanded.
In any case, we'll at least see the next-gen Compass soon.
